The academic lecture given by the Prof. Jiping Wang of Shanghai University of Engineering Technology

  Recently, Professor Jiping Wang of Shanghai University of Engineering Technology was invited to give an academic lecture entitled "Non-water medium dyeing new technology and industrialization demonstration -- 95% water saving, zero sewage discharge" for teachers and students of Textile College. Nearly 200 teachers and students attended this report meeting. The meeting was hosted by Professor Jianxin He, Executive Vice President of The Textile and Garment Research Institute. Before the lecture, Vice President Jianxin He presented Prof. Jiping Wang with the "Lecturing Certificate of Hongde Forum " .

  At the report meeting, Prof. Jiping Wang first pointed out the development needs of non-aqueous media dyeing, and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of ecological dyeing and organic solvent dyeing respectively, aiming at whether an original technology system could be developed to overcome the shortcomings of existing dyeing technology. Professor Wang proposed that the new non-water medium dyeing technology could achieve the goal of "saving 95% water and zero sewage discharge". The report of Prof. Jiping Wang was humorous, informative and simple, which won warm applause from teachers and students. After the meeting, Prof. Jiping Wang had an in-depth exchange of views with teachers and students, and encouraged them to actively innovate, attach importance to interdisciplinary integration, and strive to become inter-disciplinary talents.

  Prof. Jiping Wang is the special expert for fifth batch of national "One Thousand Talents Plan". He is in charge of National Key Research and Development Program,  and the Major Science and Technology Projects of Xinjiang Construction Corps, and the chief scientist of Key Research and Development Projects of Zhejiang Province. He is now a professor and doctoral tutor of The Institute of Advanced Studies and the College of Textile and Clothing of Shanghai University of Engineering Technology, the director of the Clean Production Engineering Technology Research Center of Textile Chemistry, and the director of the Academic Committee of the College of Textile and Clothing, etc. In view of his outstanding contributions in textile chemistry and fine chemical industry, he was awarded "Scientific Chinese" 2014 Person of the Year.
