The lecture given by Prof. Youjiang Wang of the Georgia Institute of Technology was successfully held in Textile College of ZUT

  On the morning of November 21, 2018, Prof.Youjiang Wang of Georgia Institute of Technology was invited to give an academic lecture entitled "Textile Recycling and Utilization" to the teachers and students. Nearly 70 teachers and graduate students attended the meeting.

  Professor Youjiang Wang introduced the important role of waste recycling in environmental protection and the problems that should be paid attention to from the aspects such as continuous circular economy, recycling and utilization of environmental benefits, fiber types and sources of pollution and the method of recycling to recycle waste recycling utilization. He also presented the situation of recycle of textiles and challenges; and emphatically explained on the situation of recovery and recycling of nylon, polyester and cotton fiber, and emphasized the importance of textile recycling and recycling. His lecture was illustrated and explained in simple terms, which aroused great interests of teachers and students. After the lecture, many teachers and students asked questions and Prof. Wang patiently answered them. All the teachers and students benefited a lot.

  Prof. Youjiang Wang received his Bachelor's degree in textile engineering from Donghua University in 1982 and his Doctor's degree in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1989. He has been a professor of the Major of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology since 1989. He has got the Georgia Professional Engineer license, USA. He is mainly engaged in textile engineering, composite material processing and analysis, polymer recycling and other aspects of research. He has been frequently invited to give keynote speeches at international academic conferences. He is currently on the editorial board of academic journals such as Textile Research Journal, etc.
