College of Textile

        Textile College is one of the oldest colleges in Zhongyuan University of technology, which is mainly engaged in professional education and academic research in the field of textile science and engineering. Over the past 60 years, a large number of textile professionals and outstanding talents have been brought up for the Central region and even for the whole country in the field of textile and related engineering technology.

        The college of Textile has the right to confer master degree in textile science and engineering including textile engineering, textile materials and design, textile dyeing and finishing engineering and materials and chemical engineering. Textile Science and Engineering is the first level key discipline in Henan Province, The discipline group of "New Textile and Garment materials and high-end equipment" with Textile College as the main body was approved to be "Henan Province advantageous characteristic discipline " (construction discipline of Phase I) in 2016. The characteristic backbone discipline group construction was approved in 2020. The "textile and clothing industry Henan collaborative innovation center" with the core support of Textile College was approved in 2012 Construction. The college has three undergraduate majors, namely textile engineering, light chemical engineering, and nonwoven materials and engineering. Textile engineering -- a national characteristic specialty, was selected into the first batch of national first-class undergraduate construction sites in 2019. It passed the engineering education certification and international recognition for bachelor degree. The Light chemical engineering is a provincial characteristic specialty, and will be selected as the first-class undergraduate specialty construction site in Henan Province in 2020.

        The college has four teaching departments, including textile engineering and textile design, textile materials and textile trade, light chemical engineering, and nonwoven materials and engineering, and experimental center (Textile experimental teaching center). In addition, there are Textile Engineering Technology Research Institute, New Dyeing and Finishing Technology Research Institute, New Textile Product Development research institute and New textile Material Research Institute.

        There is ninety-three faculty staff in the college including fifty-seven PhDs, thirty-one Master supervisors, sixteen professors and twelve associate professors. There are two distinguished professors in Henan Province, ten distinguished professors in the University, fifteen PhD supervisors, two Yangtze River scholars, one Young Yangtze River scholar, three experts enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, two excellent experts in Henan Province, four academic and technological leaders in Henan Province, one outstanding young man in Science and technology innovation in Henan Province, two Science and technology innovation talents in Colleges and universities in Henan Province, and three famous teaching teachers in Henan Province.

        The college attaches equal importance to theoretical research and practical application. High-level scientific research platform and innovation team have been developed resulting in significant improvement on scientific research. The college has the following functions: Henan collaborative innovation center of textile and garment industry, Key Laboratory of functional textile materials of Henan Province, International Joint Laboratory of new textile materials and textiles of Henan Province, Key Laboratory of combing technology and equipment of textile industry, nano-fiber spinning heavy point Laboratory of textile industry, Henan Engineering Laboratory of cotton combing technology and equipment, and colleges and universities in Henan Province Provincial and ministerial level scientific research platforms such as open laboratory of key disciplines of sex textile fabrics. Henan Key Laboratory of functional textile materials was awarded excellent by Henan Provincial Science and technology department in 2017. There are two innovative science and technology teams in Henan Province, namely "functional textile materials and textiles" (rank as Excellent) and "Functional nano-fiber materials". In addition, the college also has two science and technology innovation teams in Henan Province, namely "Industrial textiles" and "Nano-fiber manufacturing and functional application", and one "Industrial textiles" Zhengzhou science and technology innovation team. In recent years, the college has undertaken ninety-seven vertical projects. Among them, there are nine national level projects such as National Natural Science Foundation and national key R & D plan sub projects, a National Key Laboratory Open Project, thirty projects of Henan Provincial Department of education, seventeen projects of Henan Provincial Science and Technology Department, a provincial and ministerial key laboratory open project, three projects of Zhengzhou science and Technology Bureau, twenty-two projects of China Textile Industry Federation, and fourteen other provincial and ministerial projects. There are seventy-four horizontal projects in cooperation with enterprises. It has won three second prizes of national science and technology progress award. It has won seventeen provincial and ministerial awards, including four first prizes of science and technology award of China Textile Industry Federation, a first prize of science and technology award of Shandong Province, two patent awards of China Textile Industry and a first patent award of Henan Province. It has authorized two hundred eight-five invention patents, published forty teaching materials and academic monographs, and published on hundred seventy-six SCI and EI papers.

        The college began to recruit master students in 2004. More than two hundred graduates have been graduated. Since 2007, more than 10 PhD students have been graduated with joint cultivation with Donghua University, Jiangnan University, Tianjin University of Technology, Manchester University, Brunel University, etc. Since the 13th five year plan, the enrollment scale of graduate students has been expanding, and the scientific research ability of students has been continuously improved. The graduate students have published forty-five papers included in SCI, won eight excellent master's degree theses in Henan Province, and approved one innovation training base for postgraduate education in Henan Province.

        The undergraduate teaching of the college insist on student-centered and output oriented, which has achieved good results. In recent years, it has won a special award for educational and teaching achievements of Henan Province, one first prize, one second prize and four third prizes of Textile Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award of China Textile Industry Federation, and nine projects of "Light of textile" educational and teaching reform projects of China Textile Industry Federation have been approved. The students were awarded the "Challenge Cup" National College Students' extracurricular academic competition and competition, the China University Students' entrepreneurship competition, China's "Internet plus" College Students' innovation and entrepreneurship competition and other major events.

        The college has established a long-term strategic cooperative relationship with many domestic enterprises, built a new fiber research center with Xinxiang Bailu, combed engineering center with Kunshan Jiangsu kaigong Machinery Co., Ltd., and textile technology research center with Shanghai Changsheng Textile Technology Development Co., Ltd. Many of the professionals and talents have been trained and become experts and backbone forces in the fields of textile including production, scientific research, management, trade, education and so on. At present, graduates in textile have always been required resulting in the high rate of employment.
